Mayor John Street Joins Sponsors at United Negro College Fund Reception
Staff, Sponsors and friends recently joined other sponsors at the annual reception honoring current and former beneficiaries of the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) scholarship program. The reception marked the beginning of UNCF’s 2005-2006 Evening of the Stars Fundraising efforts. Held at the African-American Historical Museum, the evening featured remarks from Mayor John F. Street among other luminaries.
“Believing that “A mind is a terrible thing to waste.”® are wonderful words, but without concrete support those words are wasted as well,” said spokes person for UNCF. “We appreciate the opportunity provided by UNCF to help thousands of students attend college.” The UNCF scholarships could not be possible without the generous help of our sponsors.
Pictured here, among others, is Matthew Sulby, Owner of Unclaimed Diamonds and Mayor John Street. This year, as in other years, Unclaimed Diamonds contributed $11,000 the UNCF scholarships.
